Availability:  We run the tour dayly from Monday through Saturday. However space is limited due to the nature of these activities. Guests should book at least with one week in advance to avoid disappointment.
  



Brief itinerary

6:30 - 8:30 Pick up at Tulum Hotels.
8:00 Arrive to Punta Allen  (Ascension Bay) 
8:10 Depart to first flat (brief training for beginrers) 
10:30 Visit the second flat 
12:30 Lunch time
13:00  Visit the third flat 
15:30 Back to Punta Allen and take the vehicle
17:00 Drop off at visitors hotels and end of the tour.

Duration: 8 hours from Tulum + extra time if you are in Riviera Maya or Cancun

High lights: The flats at Ascension Bay are considered among the best places around the world for salt water fly fishing and our local guides are the most helpful to assist you in having the fishing experience of your life, regardless of your ability.
You don’t need to bring your equipment for catch and release, we will provide everything you need. You may catch one, two, three or yet four species of permit, snock, tarpon or bone fish, and throughout your fishing experience you will be surrounded by the fantastic landscapes of Ascension Bay.
After we pick up you at your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, we will travel along the coastal road between Tulum and Punta Allen. Just 20 minutes after passing the Sian Ka’an entrance, you will find yourself in one boat shooting in the first flat.
Throughout the day-long fishing journey, the local guide and the captain will move to at least three different flats and change the handmade flies to give you as many chances as possible to make a grand slam catch! After lunch you will continue shooting and benefit from the sunlight, which allows you to easily identify schools of fish. At the end of the day, you will arrive at your hotel by 5:30pm.

How this tour makes a difference

Environment

We know that much of the environment in Sian Ka'an is fragile, and it is imperative that both the local population and visitors to this world heritage site are aware of the irreparable damage which can be caused to wild life as well to eco-systems such as the reefs. We try wherever possible to do activities which demonstrate a clear commitment to responsible and sustainable tourism principles.

In transportation we used large vehicles instead of personal rental car vehicle, just as a way to reduce gas emisions. In fact for every 5,000 miles of ride of our cars we plant a tree to dimish our carbon footprint. Learn more from this program

Also we hire responsable car and boat drivers to reduce damages on wildlife. every day, dozen of iguanas, crabs, birds and other small animals are killed by fast moving jeeps along the way in between Tulum and Punta Allen.

When possible, and with support of visitors donations, we collaborate with local organizations and park managers to improve the visitors infrastructure. We promote conservation projects and provide meaningfull education programs to our neighbors to participate in the ecotourism industry in the area.

Community

The inhabitants of sian Ka'an look on tourism as a good industry if they are able to have control of their land and of the economy. That is why Community Tours sian Ka'an was created, as a local bussines from the local people and for the local communities. However we realize that this is a challenging industry, where talented and skilled people is highly needed. So additional to intensive trainings and well planned educative programs, we hire neighbors that share our passion and love for this place. Actually, tourism in Sian Ka'an provides the main income source for at least 80 % of the local population.
